tribal belt of Tholampalayam, Velliyangadu and Karamadai areas are intensively covered by this project. With self reliant and sustainable development as the key objectives by community strengthening through youth group formation, revitalization of Self Helf Groups, Leadership training etc.are going to be major focus area for the project. The tribal federation namely KURUNJI and MULLAI promoted 10 years back have been strengthened. Marketing the forest products, taking up social action with local panchayaths, mooting linkages with Government agencies and nationalized bank are other activities.
Forming of Youth groups is on initiative under the project to empower them in various skills by arranging training programmes. Self Helf Groups have been formed and development activities are undertaken by linkages with the forestry departments www.forests.tn.nic.in
